Welcome to my blog, I hope you find it informational. My name is Hank Tullis and I have been working in Database Design / System Engineering for more than 25 years and with Oracle for the last 23+ years. I have worked in some very interesting industries, including Space Transportation, Commodity Exchanges, Plastics / Process Control, Temporary Services and others. As a consultant most of my technical life, I have enjoyed these different industries while designing systems.
Working at Enkitec with a great team of Oracle Professionals allows me to maintain my focus on system engineering and Oracle applications and performance. Focusing on delivering Engineered Systems, such as Exadata, Exalogic and Oracle Database Appliance, enables me to keep my technical juices flowing. Other areas I get to play with include Oracle design and Big Data.
I like to focus on three primary components including application architecture, system engineering and database design. Over the past years, I have had the pleasure of designing and delivering multiple database driven applications. These include a Space Transportation System Configuration tool, Hotel Reservation System, Medicaid Data Warehouse, College Financial Aid System and a Trading System Back-Office Confirmation System (which was granted a United States Patent).
As a system engineer for DataGeneral, my focus consisted of highly available Oracle systems on Unix and storage sub-systems. Working on delivering large SMP Oracle systems on AViiON and CLARiiON in both monolithic and Oracle Parallel Server (OPS) configurations. Also, as an Oracle consultant, my focus continued on application performance, operations and usability.
